Atmosfere mediterranee

Si respira un’aria che sa di Mediterraneo ascoltando l’ultimo album di Almartino, Tra cielo e mare. Tanti brani, diciotto per l’esattezza, dai quali si percepiscono le atmosfere romantiche e appassionate del Mare nostrum. Tante sfaccettature che narrano un’unica grande storia, quella di Capri che di questo mare ne è la regina. E Almartino, con le note soavi dei suoi sax, delle percussioni e dei flauti, ci ricorda come la musica sia non solo espressione dell’anima, ma anche di una terra, perché senza dubbio una gran parte dell’opera di questo artista nasce proprio da Capri e all’isola stessa è dedicata. Tra cielo e mare cos’altro può essere se non la perla del Mediterraneo?
Musicista per vocazione, Almartino ha iniziato la sua carriera artistica giovanissimo scoprendo negli strumenti a fiato una predisposizione e un amore particolari. I numerosi viaggi, poi, gli hanno fatto conoscere strumenti che, con la cura di un estimatore esperto, ha collezionato e suonato nei vari album e nelle serate live.
Ma nel suo girare il mondo ha anche scoperto sonorità che ha poi rielaborato nella sua inconfondibile arte. Se oggi Almartino possiede oltre 200 pezzi provenienti da ogni parte del mondo, è anche vero che ognuno di essi è diventato una parte della sua anima di artista. Come se non bastasse, con la curiosità e la creatività che lo contraddistinguono è riuscito a mettere un pezzo di sé e della sua isola dentro ogni flauto che egli stesso ha realizzato.
Interamente registrato presso la sua sala di registrazione, il Martin Studio di Anacapri, e prodotto da Capri Multimedia, l’album vanta tante collaborazioni. Fabiana Galasso, Nicole Renaud e Jenny G, prestano la voce ad alcuni brani. Mentre Costanzo Esposito con la sua chitarra elettrica, Kenneth Rice con violino e viola, Cellomix con il violoncello e Francesco Litrico alla batteria supportano con i loro strumenti il lavoro solista di Almartino.

Mediterranean atmospheres

Listening to the latest album by Almartino, Tra cielo e mare (Between sky and sea), you feel you’re breathing in the air of the Mediterranean. There are lots of tracks, eighteen to be precise, from which to imbibe the romantic and passionate atmospheres of Mare nostrum – the Mediterranean. And lots of different facets that together tell a single, unique story: the story of Capri, who is the queen of this sea. With the sweet notes of his sax, percussion and flutes, Almartino reminds us that music is not just an expression of the soul, but also of a territory, because there’s no doubt that most of the work of this artist is created right here on Capri and is dedicated to the island. What else could there be Between sky and sea if not the pearl of the Mediterranean?
A musician by vocation, Almartino started his artistic career very young, discovering a natural predisposition and a special love for the wind instruments. His extensive travels then led him to get to know other instruments that he has collected with the dedication of an expert, playing them on his various albums as well as at live gigs.
But in travelling around the world he also discovered sounds that he went on to re-work with his own unmistakeable art. Almartino now owns over 200 instruments from all over the world, and each of them has become a part of his soul as an artist. As if that weren’t enough, with his natural curiosity and creativity he has succeeded in putting a piece of himself and of his island into every flute that he himself has made.
Recorded entirely in his recording studio, the Martin Studio in Anacapri, and produced by Capri Multimedia, the album boasts many collaborations. Fabiana Galasso, Nicole Renaud and Jenny G lend their voices to some of the pieces, while Costanzo Esposito on electric guitar, Kenneth Rice on violin and viola, Cellomix on cello and Francesco Litrico on drums provide the backing for Almartino’s performance.
