His Capri is in black and white. A little surreal, but authentic, nevertheless. Made up of clouds, architecture, patterns, people, where you can enjoy imagining the colours beyond the black and white and thousand shades of grey. And in his photos you can find all the traces of the great photographers that he looked to in order to learn and grow: Cartier-Bresson, Ronis, Boubat, Giacomelli, Jodice.

Umberto D’Aniello, 59 years old, from Anacapri, has been photographing Capri and its people since photography first became part of his life in the early 1980s, almost by chance and very much through curiosity. Today, each of his photos is an island within an island, in an iconic and powerful interpretation.
